Job summary

Green Valley Rehabilitation Center, part of Volare Health, LLC, is hiring a Cook in Oregon to prepare meals per resident diets and facility procedures. This full-time role offers competitive wages and opportunities for career growth.

Responsibilities include following menus, maintaining sanitation, and collaborating with the Dietary Services team. Required: High School Diploma and ServSafe certification; pay ranges $21.27–$27.31 per hour.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Food Handler's permit / ServSafe certification as per state requirements.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to relate positively to residents and work cooperatively with staff.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve food and meals according to planned menus, diet plans, recipes, portions, and temperature control procedures.
  • Direct and assist in cleaning and sanitizing work areas, equipment, floors, dishes, and utensils.
  • Check all trays for menu and diet accuracy; ensure proper storage of food and supplies; adhere to sanitary and safety policies.
  • Be able to work in a non-temperature regulated environment near ovens and stoves.
  • Ensure food and supplies are available for next meals and assist in inventorying and storing incoming foods and supplies.

Summary

The Cook is responsible to prepare food in accordance with prescribed resident diet specifications, facility procedures, and dietary and sanitary regulations under the supervision of the Dietary Services Manager.

Job Functions
  • Prepare and serve food and meals food in accordance with planned menus, diet plans, recipes, portion, and temperature control procedures and facility policies.
  • Direct and assist in cleaning and sanitizing work areas, equipment and floors, dishes, and utensils.
  • Check all trays for menu and diet preferences and accuracy; ensure proper storage of food and supplies; adhere to universal precautions and sanitary, safety, and infection control policies and procedures.
  • Be able to work in a non-temperature regulated environment (work near ovens, stoves, enter walk in refrigerators/freezers).
  • Ensure that food and supplies are available for the next meals and assist in inventorying and storing incoming foods and supplies, and report any hazardous conditions, equipment, accidents, and incidents.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Food Handler's permit / ServSafe certification as per State requirements.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to relate positively and favorably to residents, families and to work cooperatively with other associates.
