Job summary

Tenet Healthcare's DMC Children’s Hospital of Michigan is seeking a part-time cook to support patient, staff, and guest meals in a fast-paced hospital setting. You will follow standard recipes, portion meals, garnish appropriately and ensure cleanliness and hygiene in all preparation areas.

Responsibilities include setting up service areas, maintaining production records, and adhering to food safety guidelines.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; vocational culinary training preferred.
  • 4–6 months of prior institutional or commercial quantity cooking experience.

Job Summary/Responsibilities

Under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures, performs duties related to the preparation and service of patient, staff, and guest meals. These may include but are not limited to preparing food items for patient and retail food services according to standard recipes, food portioning, garnishing and setup for service, display cooking, setup and service; cleaning and sanitizing all equipment and work areas between use; maintaining accurate production records.

Qualifications
  • 1. High School Diploma or equivalent. Vocational training in Culinary Arts preferred.
  • 2. Four to six months of prior institutional or commercial quantity cooking experience.
