Job summary

The Wheatridge Care Center is seeking a dependable Cook to prepare, season, and serve nutritious meals for residents and staff. You will follow menus, maintain clean work areas, and cooperate with kitchen and dining staff to deliver meals on schedule.

Requirements include a minimum 8th grade education and the ability to pass background checks in Colorado. This on-site position offers benefits and opportunities for growth within a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Must pass a criminal background check and Colorado CAPS background check.
• Minimum education: 8th grade or higher.
• Ability to work well in a team and maintain a positive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Handle and prepare food that is palatable, attractive
• Establish practice of serving hot food hot and cold food cold
• Cook a variety of foods in large quantities
• Be familiar with seasoning and cooking time required
• Comply with meal schedules
• Maintain and use equipment and supplies
• Work cooperatively with other staff and departments
• Wash pots, pans, and other equipment as used

Cook Summary

The Cook will prepare, cook, season, and serve adequate, attractive, nutritious, and balanced meals. Meals prepared include meat, fish, fowl, vegetables, fruit, soups, salads, desserts, bread, and pastries, as specified and scheduled by the menus. The person holding this position is delegated the responsibility for carrying out the assigned duties and responsibilities in accordance with current existing federal and state regulations and established company policies and procedures.
