Job summary

The Claiborne at Johns Creek is seeking a Cook to prepare high-quality, nutritious meals for our residents in a warm, well-organized kitchen. You’ll take ownership of your work, follow recipes, and support a safe dining environment.

This role offers weekend/holiday flexibility, teamwork in a supportive senior living community, and competitive pay with benefits. You’ll collaborate with dining services to ensure timely service and residents’ comfort and well-being.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous cooking experience in healthcare, senior living, or high-volume food service preferred.
• Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and safe food handling practices.
• Ability to follow recipes, menus, and instructions consistently.
• Strong time management skills and attention to detail.
• Dependable, team-oriented, and able to work independently.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals according to standardized recipes, menus, and portion guidelines
• Ensure meals meet quality, presentation, and dietary standards
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and infection control policies
• Support special diets and dietary restrictions as directed
• Maintain a clean, organized kitchen and food prep areas
• Assist with inventory, storage, labeling, and rotation of food items
• Work closely with the dining services team to ensure timely meal service
