Job summary

Claiborne Senior Living in Baton Rouge is hiring a Cook to prepare high-quality, nutritious meals for residents while keeping a safe, organized kitchen.

You will follow standardized recipes, support dietary needs, and work with the dining services team to ensure timely meal service. The role requires attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to stand for long shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous cooking experience in healthcare, senior living, or high-volume food service preferred.
• Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and safe food handling practices.
• Ability to follow recipes, menus, and instructions consistently.
• Strong time management skills and attention to detail.
• Dependable, team-oriented, and able to work independently.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals according to standardized recipes, menus, and portion guidelines.
• Ensure meals meet quality, presentation, and dietary standards.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and infection control policies.
• Support special diets and dietary restrictions as directed.
• Maintain a clean, organized kitchen and food prep areas.
