Job summary

Westminster Assisted Living & Memory Care of Cullman is seeking an experienced Cook to join our culinary team and provide nutritious, high-quality meals to residents.

As a key member of the kitchen staff, you will prepare meals per menus and dietary needs, ensure safe, sanitary operations, and collaborate with our Dietary Manager to deliver satisfying dining experiences for residents in Cullman, Alabama.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in senior living, healthcare, or restaurant preferred.
• Knowledge of food safety standards.
• Ability to follow recipes and meal plans.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Compassion for and a desire to work with the elderly.

Responsibilities

• Food Preparation: Prepare and cook meals according to menu plans, ensuring food is nutritious, appetizing, and prepared according to dietary requirements and resident preferences.
• Meal Service: Ensure meals are served in a timely manner, maintaining high standards of quality, portion control, and presentation.
• Kitchen Maintenance: Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen environment by following food safety and sanitation procedures. Ensure proper storage and handling of food supplies.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with the Dietary Manager and kitchen staff to ensure smooth kitchen operations and quality service. Assist in training new kitchen staff as needed.
• Inventory Control: Assist with inventory management and help track food supplies. Report shortages or order needs to the Dietary Manager.
• Resident Engagement: Respond to special dietary requests and accommodate residents’ food preferences, ensuring satisfaction with meals served.
• Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to health and safety regulations, including safe food handling and proper sanitation practices.
