Job summary

The Center at Centennial, part of Veritas Management Group, is seeking an experienced, full-time cook to join our dietary team. Pay is dependent on experience, and we offer competitive benefits.

Key duties include reviewing menus, preparing meals per diet specifications, passing trays, washing dishes, stocking supplies, and coordinating dietary service with other departments. Qualifications: one year of dietary experience preferred; must cook many foods in large quantities; food handler license;

Qualifications

• One year dietary experience preferred; hospital or skilled nursing setting a plus.
• Able to cook a variety of foods in large quantities.
• English reading/writing/speaking required.

Responsibilities

• Review menus prior to preparation of food.
• Inspect diets and ensure correct meals for residents.
• Pass food trays to residents.
• Wash dishes and keep kitchen clean.
• Stock supplies and assist with inventory.
• Coordinate dietary service with other departments.
• Prepare meals per planned menus and therapeutic diets.
• Serve meals appetizingly and on time.
• Maintain portion control and appropriate equipment with meals.

Job Duties

• Review menus prior to preparation of food.
• Inspect special diet trays to assure that the correct diet is served to the resident
• Pass food trays
• Wash dishes
• Clean the kitchen and dining areas
• Stock supplies
• Coordinate dietary service with other departments as necessary
• Prepare meals in accordance with planned menus, dietary specifications and for therapeutic diets
• Prepare and serve meals that are palatable and appetizing in appearance
• Assist in serving meals as necessary, and on a timely basis
• Serve food in accordance with established portion control procedures.
• Be sure that appropriate equipment and utensils are provided with the resident's meal tray
• Review care plans to assure that the resident's dietary needs are being met.
• Prepare and serve substitute foods to residents who refuse foods served

Qualifications

One (1) year dietary experience in a hospital, skilled nursing care facility, or other related medical facility preferred (but not necessary)

Specific Requirements

• Must be able to cook a variety of foods in large quantities.
• Must have food handlers Licenses
• Must be able to write, read, speak, and understand the English language
