Job summary

Meridian Senior Living is hiring a Cook to support our dining services in the community. You will assist with ordering, food preparation, and on-time delivery while upholding high standards of cleanliness and resident satisfaction.

You will work closely with the Dining Services Manager to ensure nutritious, appealing meals and compliant operations. Prior food service experience and a caring attitude toward the elderly are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and training as required by State regulations.
• Six months’ prior experience in a food service department preferred.
• Supervisory experience desirable.
• Obtain Food Handlers Permit as required by State regulations.
• Experience working with the elderly is preferred.
• Must have compassion for and desire to work with the elderly.
• Ability to work as a team member and independently.
• Effective communication with residents, families, staff, vendors and the public.
• Must pass health requirements and background checks.

Responsibilities

• Assist Dining Services Manager with food ordering, preparation, and delivery.
• Maintain kitchen sanitation and compliance with health regulations.
• Ensure food is nutritionally balanced and visually appealing.
• Stock supplies and maintain equipment and storage areas.
• Provide excellent customer service to residents and guests.

Details About The Cook Position We Are Hiring For

As a Cook, you will work closely with our Dining Services Manager and will be responsible for the Community’s food ordering, preparation, and delivery as well as kitchen sanitation. Cook tasks in this role include ensuring food is prepared in a nutritional and appetizing fashion, maintaining supplies and equipment, and providing excellent customer service to both internal and external customers.
