Job summary

Arabella Health and Wellness Center in Florida is seeking a passionate Cook to join our team on a part-time basis. You will prepare and serve meals to residents and patients, following production guidelines and standardized recipes, and maintain a clean, safe kitchen environment.

You will set up stations, handle ingredients, operate ovens and mixers, and contribute to outstanding guest and resident service with a positive attitude. Basic math and good communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience as a cook or in a related role; ServeSafe Certified and LTC background preferred.
• Knowledge of basic food preparation, cooking methods and food safety regulations.
• Basic math and counting skills.
• Interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills.
• Ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, and pull up to 25 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Cook and prepare a variety of food according to production guidelines and standardized recipes.
• Set up workstation with all needed ingredients and equipment.
• Prepare ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, and peeling.
• Safely utilize a variety of utensils.
• Operate equipment such as ovens, stoves, slicers, and mixers.
• Bake, roast, broil, steam, and use various cooking methods on meat, vegetables and other foods.
• Arrange, garnish, and portion food according to guidelines.
• Properly store food by adhering to safety policies and procedures.
• Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment and utensils.
• Maintain excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards guests, residents, and co-workers.
• Adhere to safety policies and procedures, including proper sanitation.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the manager.
