Job summary

The Lutheran Home is seeking a dedicated Full-time Cook to join our healthcare community in Missouri. You will prepare a variety of menu items for regular and modified diets, following standardized recipes and ensuring quality and attractive presentation.

You will assist residents with orders and ensure meals are served correctly and safely. We offer a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for growth within a supportive team, with a typical day shift and rotating weekends.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience in large quantity cooking preferred.
• Institutional cooking experience desired.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Flexibility and willingness to assist with other kitchen duties as needed.
• Strong attention to detail and a passion for providing high-quality meals.

Responsibilities

• Prepare menu items in large quantities for regular and modified diets.
• Follow standardized recipes and ensure quality, consistency, and attractive presentation of food.
• Assist residents and families with placing orders on tablets or meal cards.
• Serve food in proper portions and monitor food temperatures.
• Receive, store, rotate, label, and date food products according to guidelines.
• Assist with stocking, cleaning, sanitizing, and maintaining kitchen equipment and work areas.
• Support other kitchen duties and shift to additional positions and/or locations as needed.
• Follow all food safety and sanitation standards while maintaining a clean and orderly environment.

The Lutheran Home is looking for a Full-time Cook to join our healthcare community. Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
