Job summary

Kadima Healthcare Group in Washington County, Canonsburg, PA, is hiring a full-time Cook to prepare meals in line with federal, state, and local standards. The role includes supervising kitchen staff, conducting evaluations, and working with overtime opportunities; same-day pay may be offered.

You will follow planned menus and therapeutic diet orders, maintain portion-control practices, and ensure trays are prepared correctly for residents. A high school diploma or GED is required.

• Prepare meals according to planned menus and dietary orders.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals in accordance with planned menus and authorized substitutes.
• Serve meals that are appetizing and served with proper portion control.
• Prepare food for therapeutic diets per planned menus.
• Assist with tray line operations and support tray line as needed.
• Prepare food per standardized recipes and special diet orders.
• Inspect diet trays to ensure correct diets are served.
• Prepare and serve residents' nutritional bedtime snacks.
• Ensure appropriate equipment and utensils are available for residents.
• Be sure that the appropriate equipment and utensils are provided with the resident.

Cook

The Cook will prepare food in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulation, with our established policies and procedures and as may be directed by the Dietary Manager or designee, to assure quality food service is provided at all times. They are also responsible for directing, evaluating, and monitoring the staff assigned to the department, including issuing disciplinary actions as necessary and performing probationary and annual evaluations of employee performance.

Job Responsibilities:

• Prepare meals in accordance with planned menus and make only authorized food substitutes.
• Prepare and serve meals that are palatable and appetizing in appearance.
• Serve food in accordance with established portion control procedures.
• Prepare food for therapeutic diets in accordance with planned menus.
• Assumes responsibility for tray line and serves on tray line as necessary.
• Prepare food in accordance with standardized receipts and special diet orders.
• Inspect special diet trays to assure that the correct diet is being served.
• Prepare and serve residents nutritional bedtime snacks.
• Be sure that the appropriate equipment and utensils are provided with the resident

Education and Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required.
