Job summary

Knott’s Berry Farm in Buena Park, CA is seeking a Cook to handle meal preparation, cleaning, and use of kitchen equipment. The role requires following recipes, maintaining cleanliness, and delivering guest service in line with park standards. Flexible scheduling includes nights, weekends, and holidays.

3 pay levels exist based on experience, with a pay rate of $19.25–$21.75 per hour. Prior cooking experience is preferred and California Food Handlers Card certification is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in cooking and food preparation preferred.
• Ability to read and follow recipes and production guidelines.
• Ability to read, speak, and comprehend English for effective communication.

Responsibilities

• Performs cooking and food preparation techniques including sanitizing, grilling, broiling, frying, cutting, weighing, measuring, chopping, baking, sautéing.
• Stocks and maintains order in walk-ins and storage areas.
• Completes daily opening and closing kitchen cleaning procedures.

Our Cooks are responsible for preparation of meals such as cleaning and chopping vegetables, putting together entrees, use of basic equipment such as a fryer, grill, and other various kitchen equipment.

• Performs various cooking and food preparation techniques, including sanitizing, grilling, broiling, frying, cutting, weighing, measuring, chopping, grilling, frying, baking, sautéing, and baking.
• Stocks and maintains order in walk-ins, reach in refrigerators, and all dry storage areas throughout work area.
• Completes Daily opening and closing cleaning procedures in the kitchen.
• Provides guest service according to Six Flags standards when serving the guest or working with subordinates, including initiating guest interactions, answering questions and giving directions.
• Maintains cleanliness and safety in assigned work area and performs all duties in compliance with Six Flags Safety guidelines and requirements and reports all unsafe or unusual conditions to supervision.
• Meets scheduling availability requirements, including nights, weekends, and holiday periods to meet business needs.
• Meets Six Flags' attendance requirements as outlined in Six Flags' attendance policies.
• Adheres to Six Flags' Rules of Conduct including specific costuming and grooming standards as outlined in Employee Guidelines and other park/division specific policies and procedures.
• Other duties may be assigned.
• Previous Cook experience preferred.
• Ability to read and follow recipes, food preparation instructions, and production guidelines.
• Ability to read, speak, and comprehend English in a manner sufficient for effective communication.
• Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays and peak seasons to meet business needs.
