Job summary

Twenty20 Management in Blacksburg, VA seeks a Cook to prepare meals according to menus, recipes, and resident preferences in a senior living community.

You will ensure proper food handling, storage, and sanitation, maintain kitchen cleanliness, assist with menu planning and special events, monitor inventory, and support regulatory compliance. May take on lead duties based on experience and may rotate duties with peers.

Qualifications

• Previous cooking experience in a healthcare, hospitality, or senior living setting preferred.
• Knowledge of food preparation, sanitation, and kitchen safety standards.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality.
• Must meet all regulatory health, training, and background requirements.

• Monitor food inventory and notify the Culinary Manager of shortages.

• Other duties as assigned, including support for other departments.
• Depending on experience and performance standing – may be assigned job lead duties and act as support for peers as needed and may rotate duties with other leads.

The Cook is responsible for preparing high-quality meals that meet resident preferences, nutritional guidelines, and food safety standards. This role ensures efficient kitchen operations, menu execution, and compliance with sanitation and safety requirements. Honor resident rights and follow all established protocols for care, safety, and service delivery.

Participate in audits, inspections, and quality assurance initiatives.

Promptly report any incidents or compliance concerns to the appropriate supervisor .
