Job summary

Country Meadows Retirement Communities is seeking a Cook to prepare quality meals for residents in a part-time role. The job runs 6:30am–2:30pm on Saturdays and Sundays with 15 hours bi-weekly, featuring opportunities for advancement and a supportive benefits package.

You will cook and package recipes, ensure food quality, maintain sanitation, and assist with resident meal orders using POS technology as needed.

Qualifications

• At least one year of cooking or culinary experience.
• Ability to understand and speak English to perform the job safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Prepares, cooks and packages recipes using broilers, ovens and other kitchen equipment.
• Ensures all prep work is completed and meets quality standards.
• Maintains sanitation and cleanliness of the kitchen area.
• Documents and records food temperatures as required.
• Handles meal orders and uses POS technology as needed.

Cook Responsibilities:

• Prepares, cooks and packages recipes using broilers, ovens and a variety of other kitchen equipment.
• Ensures all prep work is completed.
• Understands and complies consistently with our standard recipes, quality standards and kitchen rules.
• Ensures quality of food at all times.
• Keeps area clean and maintains sanitation.
• Cleans all equipment according to cleaning procedures and cleaning schedules.
• Documents and completes food and temperature records.
• Use of Point of Service technology to obtain meal orders from residents, as needed.

Cook Requirements:

• At least one year of cooking or culinary experience.
• Flexibility to adjust to the needs of our residents.
• Willingness to learn food preparation techniques and presentation.
• Multi-tasking capabilities.
• Ability to perform the physical tasks required in this type of role.
• Have the ability to understand and speak English at a level which allows the safe, efficient performance of the job.
