Job summary

Jefferson Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Beaumont, TX is seeking a full-time cook to prepare and portion meals according to resident diets and facility procedures. You will work with kitchen staff to ensure meals meet quality and safety standards.

• Experience: Knowledge of Universal Precautions and rules that govern hazardous waste.
• Experience: Previous experience in skilled nursing facility preferred.
• Ability to follow oral and written directions.

Primary Responsibilities

The Cook ensures that the resident meals are properly prepared and apportioned according to the resident’s diet specifications, facility procedures, and prescribed dietary and sanitary regulations.

Essential Functions

• Maintains sanitation of equipment and utensils, work area, storage, area, and serving area

Qualifications

Educational/Training Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Licensing Requirements: Texas Food Handler Certificate is preferred.
