Job summary

Bartlett Park District is hiring a part-time Line Cook to prepare food in line with established recipes at Villa Olivia, Bartlett, IL. Requires at least 18 and a high school diploma; food handler certification within 30 days is needed.

The role involves assisting with kitchen setup, plating, and maintaining safety policies. Weekend shifts are required; salary ranges from $15.00 to $16.00 per hour based on qualifications.

Qualifications

• Two to five years’ experience in a banquet, restaurant or catering facility desired.
• Must be dependable and able to follow directions.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Gain knowledge and understanding of Park District policies and procedures and see that they are adhered to at all times.
• Attend district-wide part-time staff orientations, crisis trainings and office staff trainings as directed.
• Comply with the District’s Dress Code by coming to work in clean, presentable clothing.
• Prepares an extensive variety of cold and hot food items.
• Ensure food’s quality and presentation to the highest standard compliant to the established recipes.
• Work in areas as needed (i.e. salad prep, grill, line work, carving stations, setting up/breaking down buffet lines or where any food items are involved.
• Appropriately portions and arranges food on serving dishes.
• Assists with the set-up of kitchen before shift and tear down at the end of shift.
• Washes and cleans all utensils, preparation equipment and counters required for production in the kitchen.
• Be courteous and helpful at all times.
• Observe and follow all Park District safety policies and regulations. The safety of staff and participants is a continuing responsibility of all employees.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

SCHEDULE & PAY:

This is a part-time, hourly position. Flexible schedule and must be able to work weekends. Anticipated hiring rate is $15.00 - $16.00 per hour, dependent upon qualifications.
