Job summary

PENN Entertainment is seeking a skilled Cook to join our team, handling hot and cold food preparation, ensuring quality, sanitation and safety standards. The role emphasizes multitasking, energy, and commitment to stellar service to support our growing brand and exciting future.

Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years old.
  • High school completion or equivalent.
  • Food Handler Certification required/willing to obtain.
  • At least 2 to 3 years of high‑volume experience preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, comprehend, and speak English.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare a wide variety of food items to standard in a high‑volume, fast‑paced operation.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Available to work nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
  • Physical mobility with ability to push, pull, carry and lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Possesses intermediate knife skills, including dicing, chopping, slicing with various knife tools.
  • Maintains current and accurate information regarding food items (i.e., preparation techniques, seasonings, ingredients).
  • Employs proper cooking methods, cooks to specifications, and handles, stores and rotates food properly per health standards.
  • Wipes counter areas, sinks and floors to maintain a clean and safe workstation.
  • Maintains par levels of operating supplies and food product for each workstation; obtains replacement stock from warehouse inventory as needed.
  • Operates and maintains all equipment and utensils per guidelines and safety procedures.
  • Provides personalized service and uses guests’ names when possible.

The cook is responsible for all aspects of hot and cold food preparation including production, maintaining quality standards, sanitation, food safety and all other duties that may be assigned by the immediate supervisor. To find success in this position, the candidate should be a skilled multitasker who adheres to food safety codes. While some experience in high‑volume dining is preferred, the most important characteristics we are looking for are passion, energy, and determination which lead to stellar service and help us continue to expand our brand and ensure an exciting future.

  • Available to work required schedule which may include nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
  • This position requires working in a fast‑paced environment that is subject to varying levels of noise and crowds.
