Job summary

Atlantic Specialty Care in Atlantic, IA is hiring a Cook to contribute to menu planning, meal preparation, and a dignified dining experience for residents. You will help create nutritious, appealing meals while following dietary requirements.

You’ll train in Food Safety and Modified Diets and build positive relationships with residents, delivering high-quality service in a supportive long-term care setting.

Qualifications

• Experience in quantity food preparation and service.
• Willingness to complete training in Food Safety, Sanitation and Modified Diets.
• Experience in a healthcare dietary setting is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to menu planning and meal preparation, bringing creativity while meeting guidelines and resident preferences.
• Prepare and serve meals that create an enjoyable, dignified dining experience and support residents’ comfort and quality of life.
• Ensure meals are nutritious, well-balanced, and presented in accordance with dietary requirements and food safety standards.

• Prepare and serve meals that create an enjoyable, dignified dining experience and support residents’ comfort, satisfaction, and quality of life.
• Ensure meals are nutritious, well-balanced, and attractively presented in accordance with dietary requirements and food safety standards.
• Develop positive, respectful relationships with residents by engaging with them and incorporating feedback into meal service whenever possible.

What it takes to become a Cook with Care Initiatives:

• Demonstrated skills in quantity food preparation and service.
• Willingness to complete training in Food, Safety, Sanitation and Modified Diets.
• Experience in a healthcare dietary setting a plus!
