Job summary

The Arbor Company is seeking a full-time Cook at Arbor Terrace Asheville to craft fresh, flavorful meals in a warm, upscale senior living community. You will follow established recipes, ensure high quality, and contribute to a welcoming dining experience for residents.

Typical schedule is 6 am–2 pm or 12 pm–7 pm, with starting pay of $21 per hour. The role includes generous benefits, paid time off, and opportunities for growth within a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Culinary degree or training or restaurant cooking experience preferred.
• Knowledge of kitchen basics, sanitation, food handling and portion control.
• Experience with special diets and long-term care preferred.
• Experience with large batch cooking (100+ servings).

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals using established recipes and menu cycles.
• Assist with stock deliveries, product rotation and log requirements.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety standards per schedules.
• Communicate prep and service flow with the Dining Director.

As a Cook at The Arbor Company, your work matters. Here’s why:

• Previous experience with special diets and long-term care is preferred.
• Previous experience with large batch cooking (100 people) at plus.
• Ability to maintain positive resident relations through a courteous, cooperative and understanding manner.
