Timberland Health and Rehabilitation Center in Butler, AL is hiring cooks to join a fast-paced dietary team in a skilled nursing and long‑term care facility. You will prepare meals, set up stations, and ensure quality and safety for residents and staff.

Qualifications

• Experience in cookin​g for a fast-paced facility such as skilled nursing or long-term care.
• ServeSafe certification preferred.
• Strong knowledge of sanitation and food safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals according to standardized recipes and production guidelines.
• Set up workstations with ingredients and equipment needed for daily service.
• Measure, weigh, mix, chop, and prepare food items.
• Operate kitchen equipment including ovens, stoves, slicers, mixers, grills, and fryers.
• Use a variety of cooking methods including baking, roasting, broiling, and steaming.
• Ensure proper portioning, presentation, and food quality.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and storage procedures.
• Clean and sanitize kitchen areas, equipment, and utensils.
• Provide excellent service to residents, guests, and team members.
• Follow all facility safety and sanitation policies.
• Support the team with additional duties as needed.

What We’re Looking For

• Cook experience required, preferably in skilled nursing, healthcare, or long-term care
• ServeSafe certification preferred
• Strong knowledge of food preparation, sanitation, and food safety standards
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Basic math skills for measuring and portioning
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 25 lbs
