Job summary

Avera St Luke's Hospital in Aberdeen, SD, seeks a Food Service Worker to prepare and serve meals while maintaining sanitation and service standards. You will work primarily days with some weekend/holiday shifts and will split time between Cook and Food Service Worker II duties.

Responsibilities include meeting time schedules, delivering meals, and upholding CARE values in daily customer interactions. A ServSafe certificate is preferred; high school diploma or GED required.

  • High School or GED Equivalent.
  • ServSafe Certificate - National Restaurant Association.
  • Less than 1 year Food service/cooking related education and/or training.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others and work in a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and cook food for patients, staff, and visitors.
  • Ensure sanitation and quality standards are met.
  • Deliver products according to time schedules.
  • Assist with daily cleaning and maintain organized work areas.
  • Provide excellent customer service using established scripts.

Actual pay rate dependent upon experience.$17.50 - $23.00Position HighlightsHours are M-F 6am-2:30pm and 11:30am-7:30pm with every other weekend and holiday. Work where you matter.A Brief OverviewResponsible for preparation, cooking, service, and distribution of food in accordance with approved menus for patients/residents, employees and visitors.What you will doPrepares all food items for patients/resident, meal service, staff, cafeteria, and special functions.Meets standards established by appropriate leader for food preparation, quality, sanitation, and efficiency.Delivers all products according to time schedule set for the specific item.Makes recommendations to leader for all menus.Completes daily assigned cleaning in accordance with approved standards.Responsible for delivering excellent customer service by utilizing the appropriate scripts developed for Food Services.Ensures that all dietary procedures are followed in accordance with established policies.Completes additional tasks as assigned.Essential QualificationsThe individual must be able to work the hours specified.
