Job summary

Neuberger Berman in New York seeks a Chief Operating Officer for its Secondaries business. The role reports to the Co-Heads of Secondaries and partners with investment, marketing, investor relations, legal, finance, operations and technology to drive execution of cross‑functional initiatives.

You will oversee data integrity, process improvements, fundraising support, and the evolving operating model across evergreen funds, liquidity management and reporting to investors, with a strong emphasis

Qualifications

• 10–15+ years in private markets, secondaries, or related fields.
• Experience in COO, business management, strategy, or senior project management.
• Familiarity with private debt or private markets fund structures.
• Proven ability to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives.
• Experience with marketing and investor relations; upgrade processes.
• Strong leadership with senior professionals; structured feedback.
• Excellent communication; able to summarize complex issues.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary Secondaries interface with Private Markets COO and support teams to ensure data integrity across funds, portfolios, and investors.
• Drive implementation and alignment of the Secondaries operating model.
• Oversee and evolve the Secondaries marketing function for investors and prospects.
• Lead creation, quality control, and delivery of client content and communications for investors.
• Coordinate fund financing and liquidity management across the Secondaries platform; ensure controls and execution.
• Identify strengths, weaknesses, and gaps in talent and processes; recommend practical improvements.
• Manage timelines and deliverables for investor reporting, reviews, and compensation processes.
