Job summary

Neuberger’s Secondaries team seeks a senior, non-investment professional to serve as Chief Operating Officer for the Secondaries business. This role reports to the Co-Heads of Secondaries and the Private Markets COO, coordinating with investment, marketing, investor relations, legal, finance, operations and technology.

You will drive execution across key initiatives, ensure data integrity, and manage cross-functional projects while supporting scalable growth and strong governance.

Qualifications

• 10–15+ years in private markets, secondaries, investment management, or related field.
• Demonstrated experience in a COO, business management, strategy, or senior project management role supporting alternatives or private markets.
• Strong familiarity with a wide variety of private debt or private markets fund structures.
• Proven track record leading complex, cross-functional initiatives with multiple stakeholders (investment, legal, finance, operations, technology, marketing).
• Experience overseeing or partnering with marketing and investor relations; ability to shape strategic messaging and upgrade processes.
• Strong people leadership skills; ability to influence senior professionals without formal authority.
• Excellent organizational and project management capabilities; ability to manage multiple workstreams and meet deadlines.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with comfort in data, reporting, and operational metrics.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with senior stakeholders and external partners.
• High degree of judgment, discretion, and maturity in fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary Secondaries interface with the Private Markets COO and support teams to ensure data integrity across funds, portfolios and investors.
• Drive implementation and ongoing alignment of the Secondaries business to the target operating model.
• Oversee and evolve the Secondaries marketing function into a proactive capability that supports priorities and timelines.
• Lead creation, quality control and delivery of client content and communications for investors; engage with prospects as needed.
• Coordinate fund financing and liquidity management across evergreen vehicles; partner with finance and investment teams for coverage and controls.
• Observe talent, processes and workflows to identify gaps and recommend improvements.
• Lead complex cross-functional projects: evergreen funds, changes to external service providers, investor options, and cost minimization initiatives.
