Job summary

Annapolis Area Christian School (AACS) seeks a mission-driven Chief Operating Officer to lead its operations, FP&A, and financial stewardship in the Maryland area. The role reports to the Head of School and collaborates with senior leaders to translate strategic priorities into sustainable, effective operations aligned with the Christian mission.

Qualifications

• Significant leadership experience in operations, finance, administration, or general management
• Experience in independent or Christian schools, nonprofits, or similar complex organizations preferred
• Strong financial acumen with budgeting, forecasting, analysis, and resource allocation
• Ability to lead teams, develop people, and improve systems
• Experience managing facilities, capital projects, technology, risk management, or HR is beneficial

Responsibilities

• Lead strategic objectives and translate them into actionable operational and financial plans
• Oversee FP&A with multi-year financial models and dashboards for senior leadership
• Develop and maintain meaningful KPIs and financial/operational metrics
• Provide leadership for annual and long-range operating and capital budgets
• Ensure internal controls, policies, and risk management are in place
• Collaborate with leadership and governance bodies to support informed decisions
