Job summary

Berkshire Grey is seeking a Conveyor Solutions & Simulation Lead to develop, optimize, and standardize the conveyor system architecture and simulation methods that support the Stride platform.

You will collaborate with Solutions Architecture, Applications Engineering, Controls, Software, and Hardware Engineering to strengthen the conveyor design foundation and enable scalable customer layouts and viability reviews.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field.
• 5+ years of experience designing, modeling, optimizing, or validating industrial automation systems.
• Experience with conveyor design and layout constraints.
• Experience with AutoCAD or similar 2D/3D layout tools.
• Experience with Emulate3D/Sim3D or similar tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain standard conveyor architecture, reusable blocks, layout rules, and interface requirements for the Stride platform.
• Establish and document technical standards, reference layouts, design templates, and simulation assumptions.
• Lead simulation, system behavior, and trade studies to evaluate topology, accumulation, buffering, and layout options.
• Develop and maintain simulation models, components, and validation methods for system-level decisions.
• Coordinate with Controls and Software to reflect sensing, PLC logic, fault recovery, and system behavior.
• Ensure solution viability reviews are grounded in clear conveyor standards and validated assumptions.
• Provide design guidance and best practices to improve consistency and scalability of layouts.
• Evaluate third-party conveyor components and integration approaches for fit within BG’s architecture.
• Translate feedback and field issues into improved conveyor standards and updates.
• Maintain conveyor and simulation documentation and engineering decision records.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship in conveyor optimization and cross-functional decisions.
