Reports to: Converting Superintendent
You will be responsible for directly supervising up to twenty-five (25) employees in the daily routine of producing quality corrugated products in a safe, productive manner with minimum waste. A large part of the day is spent on the production floor.
Operations: Direct daily schedules, workflows, and assignments to meet company targets.
Supervision: Supervision includes training and coach department personnel; appraising performance and resolving performance issues; rewarding and disciplining employees; conflict resolution; and team building. Ensure adherence to safety protocols. Maintain accurate records of employee work hours, absences, and vacation time. Maintain quality, efficiency, and production levels set by management and communicate these standards to employees. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with all company policies, procedures and practices, and applicable laws.
Inventory Control: Maintain appropriate and accurate inventories of sheets, inks and other converting supplies.
Quality: Inspect finished products to ensure they meet customer specifications; report quality concerns.
Process Improvement: Analyze existing procedures to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and improve customer satisfaction.
Communication: Effective communication and coordination with production, maintenance, employees, and between shifts. Conduct weekly production/safety meetings with department personnel.
High school diploma or GED
Prior manufacturing experience
Minimum one-year prior supervisory experience
Excellent oral and written communication skills, along with working knowledge of MS Office applications
