Pratt Industries in Lewisburg, OH seeks an experienced Converting Superintendent to lead the Converting Department with a focus on safety, quality, and production excellence. You will manage Supervisors and hourly staff, drive performance, and ensure adherence to plant standards in a fast-paced corrugated environment.

The role requires strong leadership, scheduling, and communication skills with a commitment to safety and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 5 years of corrugated experience and at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Clamp truck license is required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Converting Supervisors and hourly employees.
  • Oversee performance of shifts and ensure safety, quality, and production standards.
  • Communicate plant standards to staff and maintain high morale.
  • Report issues to Plant Manager and Maintenance Manager.
  • Oversee training and manning of Converting positions; manage roll room and inventory.
  • Coordinate maintenance with minimal downtime; support policy compliance and housekeeping.

Summary

The Converting Superintendent is tasked with managing the Converting Department with ultimate goals of upholding safety, quality, and production standards.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Lead Converting Supervisors and Hourly Employees
  • Oversee performance of shifts
  • Communicate plant standards to staff
  • Establish high morale throughout your staff by showing fairness, consistency, and an interest in employee problems
  • Report to the Plant Manager and Maintenance Manager any mechanical, scheduling, or personnel problems that may have significant effects on operations.
  • Oversee the proper training and manning of plant converting positions
  • Oversee roll room and manage inventory
  • Responsible for the upkeep of machinery; coordinate maintenance work with a minimum of downtime.
  • Help with solutions to solve production problems. Implement, maintain, and support all company policies and procedures, safety program, and good housekeeping.
  • Additional duties may be assigned by management.
  • Other responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; conflict resolution; team building; coaching and leading employees to improve; addressing complaints and resolving problems; documentation; and setting an example of superior behavior, attitude and performance.
Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Must have a minimum of 5 years of corrugated experience and at least 2 years in a Supervisory or Managerial role

  • Cost issues in order to make daily decisions that will reduce overall costs and will help the supervisor find areas that require improvement.

  • Regulatory requirements including but not limited to wage and hour requirements, environmental and waste minimization, company policies, and personnel requirements including OSHA, DEQ and EEO.
Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations
  • Required to have a clamp truck license
Physical Demands
  • The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and talk or hear.
  • The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • The employee is occasionally required to sit.
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.
  • The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions.
  • The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; and vibration.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
