Job summary

Pregis is seeking an experienced Converting Machine Operator in Elgin, IL. This role supports converting and finishing equipment, with emphasis on safety, quality, and productivity. Shifts available: Day 6:00 AM–6:00 PM and Night 6:00 PM–6:00 AM on a 2-2-3 rotating schedule.

Pay ranges from $22.00 to $26.00 per hour based on experience and includes a sign-on bonus up to $2,500. Training and development opportunities are provided to advance within the company.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Experience operating converting, printing, packaging, finishing, or manufacturing equipment.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read and interpret job tickets and production specifications.
• Commitment to safety, reliability, and quality.

Responsibilities

• Operate converting and finishing equipment safely and efficiently.
• Maintain production consumables during runs (adhesives, labels, paper).
• Review job tickets and production specifications prior to runs.
• Verify materials and components are available before production starts.
• Monitor machine performance, product quality and output.
• Document production data, material usage, and job info.
• Assist in setup and changeovers for smooth shift transitions.
• Identify issues and implement corrective actions.
