Job summary

Amcor Flexibles, LLC is seeking a Converting Operator in Oshkosh, WI to support the converting department and grow into a Machine Operator role. You will read specifications, visually inspect materials, and participate in process improvements while maintaining safety and quality standards.

The role offers 12-hour shift options (2-2-3 straight nights or days) with a night premium on night shifts. A referral bonus of $3,000 is available, along with comprehensive benefits and growth opportunities

Qualifications

  • Previous manufacturing and machine operation experience required.
  • Experience performing quality checks and adjusting machinery.

  • Support and participate in department process improvement and safety initiatives.
  • Promote safety culture by communicating safety concerns to coworkers and supervisors.
  • Notify colleagues and management of quality concerns or issues.
  • Maintain a respectful, collaborative work environment.
  • Read and follow finishing, customer, and SOC specifications.
  • Perform QA checks and report discrepancies using the AIMS dashboard.
  • Assist with setup and basic troubleshooting as assigned.

Role Overview

Join Amcor as a Converting Operator and help produce high-quality packaging with global impact. Safely support the converting department to produce quality product while meeting all customer specifications and requirements. Schedule
  • 12-hour shifts on a 2-2-3 straight night shift schedule (5p-5a)
  • 12-hour shifts on a 2-2-3 straight day shift schedule (5a-5p)

Job Description

What You Will Do

  • Act as a safety leader and put safety first in all responsibilities
  • Support and actively participate in department process improvement and safety initiatives
  • Promote safety culture by positively communicating safety concerns/risks to co-workers, leads, supervisors, managers, visitors, and all others in the facility
  • Immediately notify coworkers, leads, and supervisors/management of quality concerns/issues
  • Maintain a respectful and collaborative work environment
  • Have knowledge of, read, and follow finishing specifications
  • Visually inspect all material for accuracy, quality, and defects and report discrepancies to your lead or supervisor immediately
  • Take full responsibility for your professional development and training
  • Perform all tasks under minimal supervision with a sense of urgency
  • Read, understand, and follow all information contained in job jackets, manufacturing specifications, customer specifications, print specifications, work instructions, job aids, OPLs, quality/process alerts, standard-operating conditions (SOCs), and the AIMS Dashboard
  • Locate and utilize inspection methods for all applicable testing requirements within AIMS. Perform all QA checks with the AIMS quality dashboard
  • Utilize the electronic SOC Deviation Form when running outside SOC parameters
  • Collect required samples/retains and label accordingly
  • Assist with set-ups as assigned by the set-up technician and/or lead, and complete basic troubleshooting when possible
  • Properly complete necessary paperwork
  • Maintain company requirements for product safety and cleanliness

Preferred qualifications

  • Previous manufacturing and machine operation experience required
  • Previous experience doing quality checks, interpreting results to adjust machinery and ensure compliance with specifications
  • Knowledgeable and able to understand a computer and programs
  • Possess adequate math, measurement, and reading skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be able to perform detailed visual inspections including the use of measurement devices
  • Commitment to teamwork, safety, and quality
