Job summary

Amcor Flexibles, LLC is seeking a press line assistant to support operators in all aspects of running and setting up jobs on our manufacturing lines. You will help ensure materials are ready, verify products meet specs, and cooperate with maintenance to keep lines productive.

The role emphasizes safety, quality, and teamwork, with opportunities for growth and development within a global packaging leader.

Qualifications

  • Previous manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to understand computer programs and use a computer.
  • Adequate math, measurement and reading skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Good organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to perform visual inspections with measurement devices and color identification.
  • Commitment to teamwork, safety and quality.

Responsibilities

  • Assist on press lines including changeovers, start-up, run and shutdown.
  • Run jobs per customer specs, manufacturing spec, print spec and SOPs.
  • Set up jobs per SOCs and report discrepancies to supervisor.
  • Ensure printed material is defect-free and within specs.
  • Minimize change-over time and downtime with the press operator.
  • Prepare inks, stocks, cylinders, cores and aniloxes for next job.

Schedule
  • Week end Shift: Friday-Sunday , 6:45 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.
Compensation & Benefits: Value, Recognized
  • Pay: $18.68 -$21.79/hour
  • Overtime: 1.5x pay for hours over 40 per week
  • 401(k): Dollar-for-dollar match up to 8%

WHAT YOU GET TO DO
  • Assistants will aid in all aspects of operation of Press lines including change-overs, machine start-up, running and shut-down.
  • Assist operator in running all jobs in accordance with customer specification, manufacturing specification, print specification, color folders and standard operating procedures.
  • Assist operator in setting up jobs according to established S.O.C.'s (standard operating conditions), and to report and follow up on any discrepancies to the supervisor.
  • Assist operator in ensuring all printed material is free of defects.
  • Ensure all jobs are run in accordance to all written specifications including manufacturing specs, customer specs, print specs, color folders and standard operating conditions.
  • Work with press operator to minimize job change-over and down time.
  • Make every effort to see that all materials such as inks, stocks, cylinders, cores, and aniloxes are ready for the next job.
  • Assist and aid maintenance to get the machine back on line and productive.
  • Work with the press operator, manufacturing specialist and press supervisor to understand and complete each level of the assistant training matrix on time.
  • While also knowing and understanding the role in product safety.
  • Comply with all 5S and Daily Lean Management.
  • All other duties as assigned by supervisor or management.
Preferred qualifications:
  • Previous manufacturing experience preferred
  • Basic mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting skills, & understanding of mechanical equipment
  • Knowledgeable and able to understand a computer and programs
  • Possess adequate math, measurement, and reading skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Good organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Must be able to perform visual inspections including the use of measurement devices and ability to identify and distinguish colors.
  • Commitment to teamwork, safety, and quality
Physical Requirements
  • Lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Stand for long periods (steel-toed shoes required)
  • Perform climbing, crouching, and reaching
