Job summary

Smurfit Westrock is seeking a Converting Supervisor to lead safe, efficient production operations at the corrugated container facility. You will set performance expectations, supervise machine productivity and quality, and coach team members to meet targets and KPIs.

The role requires 3+ years in converting supervision, Lean/Six Sigma experience, and strong communication. Flexible to multiple shifts and a self-directed team player will thrive in this environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 3+ years of converting supervisory experience in a packaging facility.
• Lean environment experience; Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Certification preferred.
• Proven experience in operations, manufacturing, or supply chain.
• Excellent communication and listening skills.
• Proven track record of effective problem-solving.
• Ability to embrace continuous improvement.
• Strong collaboration and teaming skills with stakeholders across functions.
• Ability to coach and train employees.
• Ability to be an on-shift resource for troubleshooting problems in the process as well as maintenance issues.

Responsibilities

• Lead safe and efficient operations of production on designated shift.
• Communicate performance expectations to meet production targets and metrics.
• Supervise machine productivity and quality; mentor team members.
• Coach and mentor team members to improve performance.
• Monitor KPIs and report results on the plant scorecard.
• Coordinate workforce planning and attendance policies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional areas to meet production needs.
• Monitor Daily Management Systems to track progress against goals.
