Job summary

Sofidel America in Inola, OK is seeking a Manufacturing Converting Engineer to support operations with reliable improvements across production lines. Local candidates are preferred for a long-term role in a stable environment.

The engineer will identify improvement areas, lead cost and efficiency projects, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance processes and equipment performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering with focus on mechanical, manufacturing, industrial or electrical preferred.
• Experience in a pulp/paper mill or with converting equipment preferred.
• Ability to analyze manufacturing operations and perform capacity analysis.
• Promote a safe working environment.

Responsibilities

• Identify and address improvements in manufacturing processes and equipment, including quality, waste, risk, and malfunctions.
• Evaluate raw material trials, cost opportunities, and lead modification and installation of equipment.
• Prepare project justifications and benefit analyses; facilitate root cause analysis.
• Develop innovative solutions to improve product line design and evaluate technical options for business initiatives.
• Conduct acceptance tests on vendor-purchased equipment.
• Manage operational costs, compliance projects, and production performance of converting assets.
• Draft equipment layouts to maximize efficiency using drafting tools.
• Define process requirements for next-generation equipment via modeling and prototyping.
• Collaborate with product development and operations to deliver targeted process capabilities.
