Job summary

Sofidel America, a global leader in tissue paper manufacturing, is seeking Converting Equipment Operators in Shelby, North Carolina. The role involves managing specific functions on the Converting Line, operating both automatic and manual processes, and progressing to learn multiple machines with increased responsibilities and compensation.

Responsibilities include loading materials, operating controls, troubleshooting, quality checks, and helping with changeovers.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Knowledge of Laser Guided Vehicles (LGVs) is preferred.
• Understand and comply with all manufacturing safety procedures including PPE.
• Able to work in a physically demanding environment including temperature extremes and loud noise.
• Physically capable of manual labor that includes bending, walking, sitting, and climbing in and around machinery for a 12-hour shift.

Responsibilities

• Prep and load material for different machines.
• Operate and observe machines using computer systems and controls.
• Troubleshoot machines and request maintenance as needed.
• Respond to misfeed or jams in machine and remove damaged product.
• Maintain fluid levels and lubricants, monitor adhesive levels for cores and cases.
• Perform product quality checks.
• Operate manually and with crane to move finished product.
• Complete product changeovers efficiently.

Position Overview

Sofidel America, a global leader in tissue paper manufacturing, is seeking Converting Equipment Operators. This role is responsible for managing specific functions on the Converting Line including automatic and manual processes and machines. Equipment Operators will begin on the line learning one function and will progress throughout the department, learning multiple roles and machines, providing an opportunity for increased responsibility and compensation

Job Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent (required)
• Knowledge of Laser Guided Vehicles (LGVs) (preferred)
• Understand and comply with all manufacturing safety procedures including personal protective equipment (required)
• Able to work in a physically demanding environment including temperature extremes, loud noise, avoiding slipping, tripping, and falling hazards
• Physically capable of manual labor that includes bending, walking, sitting, and climbing in and around machinery and equipment for entire 12-hour shift
