Job summary

Inteplast Group in Seguin, Texas is seeking a Conversion Team Leader to provide hands-on training, troubleshoot issues, and support continuous improvement for consistent, high-quality production. You will develop operator skills and ensure safe, efficient processes across the conversion lines.

Responsibilities include coaching new hires, maintaining training materials, and collaborating with supervisors to optimize changeovers, performance, and uptime while upholding safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Prior experience operating or supporting conversion equipment.
• Strong understanding of bag-making processes, quality standards, and machine operation.
• Ability to train or mentor others in a manufacturing setting.
• Excellent communication and instructional skills.
• Strong problem-solving to identify, analyze, and resolve technical issues.
• Reliable, self-motivated, and team-oriented.
• Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime as needed.
• Ability to manage stress and maintain productive workplace interactions.

Responsibilities

• Conduct hands-on training for new employees on equipment operation and safety.
• Ensure consistent understanding and application of processes, quality standards, and safety.
• Maintain and update training materials and checklists.
• Observe performance to identify training needs and skill gaps.
• Provide coaching, retraining, or additional support to underperforming staff.
• Collaborate with supervisors to plan cross-training opportunities.
• Maintain training compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
• Assist operators with troubleshooting and minor mechanical issues.
• Monitor run-time and output, address speed slowdowns in real time.
• Support quick response to machine stoppages and defects.
• Document downtime and corrective actions for continuous improvement (OEE).
• Ensure SOCs are followed during production runs.
• Report and help revise SOPs/SOCs as equipment changes occur.
• All other duties as assigned by management.
