Our Client, a direct to consumer intimates apparel brand is looking to hire a second Ecommerce Manager to own conversion rate optimization, performance analysis, and data-informed merchandising across the site.
About the Role
This role exists to turn site and customer data into clear, actionable direction, not just pull reports. It works side-by-side with the Ecommerce Manager, Site Production & Delivery, who owns technical execution and the development agency relationship: this role owns the what and why, that partner owns the how it gets built.
Responsibilities
- Own conversion rate optimization and performance analysis
- Own and evolve the CRO roadmap against defined sitewide targets (CVR, AOV, ATCrate, funnel drop-off by page type)
- Monitor site performance daily using GA4, Looker, and Shopify
- Diagnose friction points using behavioral tools (heatmaps, session recordings, Clarity) and turn findings into a small number of clear, prioritized recommendations
- Partner on GA4 event tracking and funnel/tagging setup as needed
- Share ownership of experimentation
- Generate and prioritize test hypotheses using A/B testing tools (Intelligems or equivalent)
- Own the experimentation roadmap and documentation of learnings
- Test build and execution is shared with the Ecommerce Manager, Site Production & Delivery's team; the core requirement here is the hypothesis and analysis, not necessarily hands-on build
- Own merchandising and site structure through a conversion lens
- Own how products and collections are structured and merchandised sitewide: collection ordering, sell-through-based placement, promotional and seasonal merchandising, tied explicitly to conversion and AOV impact
- Build and share merchandising previews for stakeholder review before major changes go live
- Partner with planning to avoid over-promoting low-stock or constrained products
- Own reporting and stakeholder communication
- Prepare and present performance reporting live to the wider team
- Translate performance data into clear narratives for cross-functional partners (marketing, creative, product)
- Coordinate cross-functionally
- Give marketing and creative teams data-informed direction on landing pages, campaign performance, and content priorities
- Partner with the Ecommerce Manager, Site Production & Delivery on execution of merchandising and site changes flowing from this role's recommendations; requests for Ecommerce Coordinator support route through that partner, who owns the Coordinator's workload
Reporting Structure
- This role sits in the Digital Operations/Ecommerce team, reporting to the Senior Director, as a peer to the Ecommerce Manager, Site Production & Delivery.
- Default plan is same level between the two roles; exact structure will flex based on the seniority of the candidate hire.
Qualifications
- ~5 years ecommerce experience across 2-3 roles, comfortable operating independently
Required Skills
- Strong Shopify fluency (admin, collections, merchandising tools, meta fields)
- Hands-on experience with GA4, Looker (or equivalent BI tool), and A/B testing platforms
- Demonstrated ability to synthesize data into a small number of clear, actionable recommendations, not just report out raw numbers
- Comfortable presenting performance data live to cross-functional stakeholders and leadership
- Experience with digital merchandising in a DTC context
- Apparel or intimates-industry merchandising background
Preferred Skills
- Experience partnering with a technical/dev-focused counterpart in a shared-ownership team structure
