Job summary

CROWN Cork & Seal USA, Inc. in Winchester, Virginia, is seeking a Machine Maintainer to perform basic mechanical tasks, document routinely, and support line operations.

You will assist co-mechanics, feed materials, and uphold sanitation standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Ideal candidates show flexibility for shifts and overtime, strong attention to detail, and good written and verbal communication.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Requirements / Preferences High School Diploma or GED Preferred.
  • Exhibits safety and quality as top priority.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced work environment, both as an independent contributor and as a team player.
  • Cross training / mutli-skilling in other functions will be a basic expectation of any person hired.
  • Detail oriented and very accurate.
  • Candidates must be flexible to work any shift and OT as required.
  • Problem solving skills through an individual and/or collaborative approach.
  • Ability to work independently and with a team.
  • Excellent time management skills and multi-tasking.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Reporting directly to the Manufacturing Supervisors, the Machine Maintainer’s responsibilities would include, but will not be limited to, the following: Possess basic mechanical aptitude.
  • Perform basic arithmetic functions.
  • Complete routine written documentation.
  • Understand the importance of housekeeping / sanitation requirements.
  • Willingness to perform repetitive tasks and utilize idle time to assist co-mechanics on the line.
  • Routinely feed materials to several pieces of equipment, general housekeeping, documentation, and basic quality inspections.

Division Overview

Crown’s Beverage Division manufactures a variety of packaging solutions for soft drinks, craft beers, coffees and teas as well as new energy drinks. Crown Beverage leads the packaging industry with innovative technologies that redefine how the world looks at beverage cans. Duties And Responsibilities

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, and may be required to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The associate may lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Ability to walk up and down stairs / platforms. Ability to climb ladders (to include rolling ladders), up to 20ft to perform work.

Working Conditions

Manufacturing plant environment that is not temperature controlled. While performing the duties of this job, the associate will be exposed to lifting, moving machinery, and forklift traffic. Production noise level is frequently loud. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.

  • Crown offers competitive pay (starting rate $31.20/hr with a $0.98/hour shift differential) and progresses to $33.29/hr.
