Night Shift Position: A 10% shift differential will be added to the base hourly rate.

Job Description

The Conventional EDM Operator is responsible for effectively and efficiently running multiple machines on a continuous basis. The role involves identifying issues during production, positioning workpieces, and inspecting parts daily using various inspection tools.

Job Function

Performs operations on EDM machines including loading/unloading parts, inspecting parts, preparing electrodes, and changing them. Cleans and maintains equipment, documents machine operation and production data, transports parts, follows safety protocols, maintains a clean work area, reviews records, prepares labor sheets and non-conformance reports, communicates with team members, operates EDM and other machinery, and performs related duties as needed.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Set up and switch jobs as required
  • Perform tasks efficiently within standard time
  • Track materials in the area
  • Perform minor maintenance on machines
  • Maintain excellent attendance
  • Verify parts conform before signing off on travelers
  • Track scrap and implement corrective actions
  • Operate 2+ machines in a cell
  • Maintain inspection gauges and tooling
  • Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned
  • Work effectively within a team
  • Adhere to AS9100 and other quality standards
Requirements
  • High proficiency in machining
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (documentation required)
  • Meet ITAR US Person requirements (documentation required)
  • Understanding of machining processes
  • Ability to run parts to specifications on multiple machines
  • Ability to read simple drawings
  • Accurate use of micrometers and dial calipers
  • Mathematical ability to calculate dimensions and tolerances
  • Ability to follow and communicate instructions in English
  • Perform other tasks as deemed necessary
  • Pre-employment drug screening required due to safety sensitivity
  • 1-5 years' experience in machining such as milling, drilling, turning
  • Relevant machining education or training

Physical Demands/Work Environment:

The employee must frequently move, stand, use hands, reach, communicate, and lift/move up to 35 pounds. Vision requirements include close vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment. The environment may be loud. PPE must be used. Accommodations can be made for disabilities.
