Night Shift Position: A 10% shift differential will be added to the base hourly rate.

Job Description

The Conventional EDM Operator has the ability to run multiple machines effectively and efficiently on a continuous basis. They can identify problems during the production run, position work pieces, and inspect parts daily using various types of inspection equipment.

Job Function

Performs required operations on EDM machines, including loading and unloading of parts, part inspection, electrode preparation and changing; cleans and performs preventive maintenance and minor adjustments of assigned equipment; prepares logs and records to document machine operation and daily production, and enters required data into computer; moves/transports parts as needed; ensures safety protocols are followed; maintains clean and orderly work areas; reviews and/or refers to various records or reports including travelers, shift reports, SOP, safety sheets, etc.; prepares labor sheets and non-conformance forms; communicates with various groups including supervisors, co-workers, and shop personnel; operates EDM and/or multi-axis machines, grinders, micrometers, gauges, power tools, and computers; performs related duties as required.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Set up and switch jobs as required
  • Perform tasks efficiently within standard time
  • Track materials in the area
  • Perform minor maintenance on machines
  • Maintain excellent attendance
  • Verify all parts conform before signing off on travelers
  • Keep track of scrap and seek corrective actions
  • Operate and maintain 2+ machines in a cell
  • Maintain inspection gauges and tooling
  • Perform miscellaneous duties and projects as assigned
  • Work effectively within a team
  • Adhere to AS9100 and other quality standards
Requirements
  • High ability in machining
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (documentation required)
  • Meet the ITAR definition of US Person(s) (documentation required)
  • Understanding of machining processes
  • Ability to run parts to spec on multiple machines daily
  • Ability to read simple part drawings
  • Use and read micrometers and dial calipers accurately
  • Calculate dimensions and tolerances using math knowledge
  • Follow verbal and written instructions in English
  • Communicate effectively in English
  • Perform tasks as deemed necessary by management
  • Pre-employment drug screening required due to safety sensitivity
  • 1-5 years of experience in conventional machining
  • Relevant machining education or training

Physical Demands/Work Environment:

Employees must move throughout the facility, stand, use hands, reach, communicate, and lift/move up to 35 pounds frequently. Vision requirements include close vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment. Noise levels may be loud. PPE must be used. Accommodations available for disabilities.

This job requires working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with accountability.
