This job involves operating the cash register efficiently and courteously, following company policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Scan grocery orders accurately and efficiently, correctly identifying proper departments for non-scannable items.
2. Use scan and bag techniques to maximize efficiency and customer satisfaction.
3. Follow company policy on cash drops and complete the necessary paperwork.
4. Assist in other store areas, including but not limited to:

• a) Filling cigarette racks and displays.
• b) Filling the walk-in cooler with milk, eggs, soda, tea, etc.
• c) Filling produce racks.
• d) Bagging ice when needed.
• e) Emptying trash inside and outside the store.
• f) Maintaining a neat appearance at gas pumps, including washing pumps, refilling washer fluid, and towels.
• g) Assisting with temperature readings as needed.

Maintain the store's appearance, including:

• a) Windex all coolers, freezers, and entrance doors.
• b) Cleaning bathrooms and floors.
• c) Fronting aisles, coolers, and freezers.
• d) Cleaning outside the store, including pay phones, sidewalks, and trash cans.

Have full knowledge of company policies regarding video rentals and in-store lottery tickets.

Provide first-class customer service at all times.

Abide by all policies outlined in the Employee Handbook.

SUPPLEMENTAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Assist in other departments such as the sub shop as needed.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

1. Dexterity in both hands for scanning and bagging groceries.
2. Strong communication skills for effective customer service.
3. Strong mathematical skills.
4. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds up to 40% of the time.
