Job summary

Southern FS, Inc. in Marion, IL is seeking a Convenience Store Clerk to provide outstanding customer service, handle cash, and help run daily store operations. You will assist with stocking, pricing, and maintaining a clean, welcoming environment, while complying with health and safety standards.

This role supports a busy convenience store with opportunities for growth. The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, cash handling experience, and the ability to obtain a food service

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Experience in cash handling, sales, or customer service is a plus.
• Ability to acquire and maintain a food service sanitation certification.
• Must be of legal age to sell alcohol and tobacco products.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record.
• Ability to lift 21-50 lbs and occasionally work in varying weather conditions.
• Strong skills in communication, decision‑making, customer focus, and collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Ensure correct pricing, promotion, and display of products to maximize profitability.
• Maintain the appearance of the store, both inside and outside.

• Attend employee meetings and collaborate with team members.
• Prepare fast food items according to the Health Department and store standards when required.
