Job summary

Dandy is hiring a Controls Technician in Provo, Utah, to maintain automation equipment and support manufacturing operations. You will work with automation engineers to calibrate, repair, and test controls, and to program software for equipment operation.

The role requires PLC troubleshooting, pneumatic system knowledge, and strong safety practices, including PPE and lockout/tagout. Night shift is 6pm–6am, Wednesday to Saturday, with occasional overtime.

Qualifications

  • Significant experience as a controls technician/engineer.
  • Experience with setting up / troubleshooting pneumatic systems.
  • Basic understanding of PLC troubleshooting and programming.
  • Understanding of basic safety protocols, including proper use of PPE and Lockout/Tagout procedures.
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds, work within a confined space, climb ladders, and perform other physical tasks for multiple hours/day.
  • Ability to work occasional overtime/weekends as needed to support production goals and equipment shutdowns.
  • A self-driven individual with a desire and ability to work under minimal supervision.
  • A curious mind with a need to “get to the bottom” of issues and improvement opportunities.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in speaking, reading, writing, and understanding the English language.

About the Role

Dandy is hiring an experienced Controls Technician to join our rapidly growing venture-backed company. In this role, you’ll oversee the maintenance and functionality of automation equipment controls and other controls systems as needed. This is an opportunity to work with custom, cutting‑edge automation technology in a manufacturing environment.

Shift

Night shift from 6pm -6am Wednesday - Saturday rotating shift.

What You'll Do

Work with automation engineers to create and implement programs and processes to optimize equipment efficiency

Manage and perform equipment calibration, repairs, preventive maintenance, and testing

Perform basic programming and installation of new and existing software required for equipment operations

Work within the SCADA system, look for opportunities for continuous improvement

What We're Looking For

Significant experience as a controls technician/engineer
