Job summary

Quanex in Rice Lake, WI, seeks a Controls Technician - 1st Shift to support manufacturing operations. The role runs Monday–Friday, 6am–2:30pm, with overtime during busy seasons. Starting pay is $25/hour with potential annual increases.

The position focuses on troubleshooting, maintenance, and integration of control systems in a fast-paced environment. Candidates should have a 2-year technical degree or equivalent experience, basic PM duties, and familiarity with PLCs, HMIs, and variable speed

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years on-the-job experience in a related field or a 2-year technical degree.
• Proficient in using maintenance tools and equipment.
• Able to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
• Basic mechanical and fabrication skills; understands fluid power basics.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair industrial controls and wiring.
• Perform basic preventive maintenance (PMs) on machinery.
