Job summary

West Seneca Plant (UNC) in West Seneca, NY is hiring a Controls Technician to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and automation systems. You will program PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens) and develop HMIs, calibrate instrumentation, and work with cross-disciplinary teams to improve processes.

Must have Associates degree with 3–5 years experience; Technician certification and knowledge of HACCP/GMP are advantageous.

Qualifications

Associates degree with 3–5 years experience.
Technical degree or certification in electrical/controls preferred.
Proficiency in PLC programming (Allen-Bradley, Siemens) and HMI development.
Strong knowledge of electrical systems, industrial controls, and instrumentation.
Familiarity with HACCP/GMP is a plus.
Excellent problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills.
Safety-focused and adheres to safety protocols.
Flexibility to work off-hours and weekends when necessary.

Responsibilities

Inspect and maintain electrical and control systems to minimize downtime.
Develop and troubleshoot PLC programs for production equipment.
Create/update HMI screens for operator interaction and monitoring.
Calibrate sensors and instrumentation devices used in production.
Install, troubleshoot and repair electrical wiring per safety standards.
Collaborate with engineers and production teams for process improvements.
Maintain maintenance records and electrical drawings.
Ensure safety and regulatory compliance across processes.
Provide training on safe operation and basic troubleshooting of control systems.
Lead troubleshooting and allocate crew resources to correct issues.
