Job summary

Moffitt Cancer Center is seeking a knowledgeable Controls Technician to manage Building Automation Systems, troubleshoot components, and perform preventive maintenance to ensure optimal operation of critical facilities. The role requires teamwork within the Facilities Department to support patient care and safety.

Responsibilities include implementing and maintaining BAS elements and responding to emergencies as a first responder.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Preferred Associate's degree in HVAC controls, electronics, or engineering.
• Licensure: Florida Driver's License required on hire; OSHA 10-hour within 6 months.
• Preferred professional certifications: Certified Automation Professional (CAP) and Certified Controls System Technician (CCST).

Responsibilities

• Implement, troubleshoot, and maintain Building Automation System components.
• Collaborate with Facilities team to ensure system reliability and patient safety.
• Respond to facility emergencies as a first responder, regardless of system or cause.

Education

High School Diploma/GED

Associate's Degree in HVAC Controls, Electronics, or Engineering

Certification in HVAC controls, electronics, or engineering preferred

Tools

Driver's License (DL)

OSHA 10 Hour Certificate

CAP CCST certifications (preferred)
