Job summary

State Group Automation (SGA) is seeking an experienced Controls Technician to join our North America team. You will support automation projects by wiring, commissioning, and testing PLCs, HMIs, and networks, ensuring safety and quality on site.

Responsibilities include startup, troubleshooting, and collaboration with customers, contractors, and project stakeholders to deliver reliable automated systems. Relevant experience in automotive, manufacturing, or warehouse automation is preferred;

Qualifications

• 2+ years hands-on experience as a Controls/Automation Technician
• Associate degree or two-year diploma in Electrical Technology or related field
• Ability to read electrical schematics and troubleshoot field devices
• Experience in automotive/manufacturing/warehouse automation preferred
• Must be legally authorized to work in the US

Responsibilities

• PLC I/O checkout, point-to-point testing, and functional testing per engineering documentation
• Configure and verify PLCs, HMIs, networks, field devices, and industrial communications
• Test machine sequences, interlocks, alarms, safety devices, and fault-recovery functions
• Equipment startup, commissioning, system validation, production startup, and performance testing
• Troubleshoot equipment and provide feedback on system performance
