Job summary

TI Automotive in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking a Controls Technician responsible for installation, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of Test and Assembly Equipment.

You will drive continuous improvement of automation processes, program equipment, maintain OEE, and coordinate with suppliers for outside repairs and new equipment needs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Two-year technical degree or accredited apprenticeship preferred.
• At least 2 years' experience in a technical manufacturing role involving PLC and programming.
• Preferred PLC training in Allen Bradley, RS Logic, Omron.
• Preferred ABB and Fanuc and Sepro robotics.
• Experience in Vision systems preferred (Keyence and SensoPart).

Responsibilities

• Install and program equipment and perform routine maintenance.
• Drive continuous improvement of automation processes and OEE.
• Troubleshoot electrical/electronic equipment including PLCs and drives.
• Coordinate with suppliers for outside repairs and new equipment needs.

Job description

The Controls Technician primary responsibility is to perform installation, Continuous Improvement, Preventive Maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of Test and Assembly Equipment.

• Continuous Improvement of automation processes and equipment utilization, OEE, and downtime reduction
• Installation and Programming of Equipment
• Perform routine maintenance on all Test and Assembly Equipment
• Coordinate with suppliers on necessary outside repairs and new equipment needs
• Troubleshoots and repairs electrical/electronic equipment including but not limited to programmable
• controls, numeral controls, power supplies, drives and test equipment.
• Plans and performs work requiring a thorough knowledge of electrical/electronic theories and principles, writing specifications, local and national electrical codes, properties of various materials, and principles of operation and application of electronic equipment.
