Job summary

The Hershey Company in Edgerton, KS is seeking a Controls Technician for the 2nd shift to lead installation, programming, troubleshooting, and repair of robotics and automated packaging equipment. You will support production and maintenance teams by designing solutions to complex problems and managing automation projects.

The role requires ABB and Fanuc robotics experience, PLC proficiency, and strong electrical/mechanical skills; travel to other Hershey plants may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 3+ years experience with ABB and/or Fanuc robotics.
• 3+ years experience with ABB Pick Master Software.
• 5+ years experience with automated conveyors and controls.
• 5+ years experience reading blueprints and schematics.
• 5+ years experience with Allen Bradley PLCs.
• 4+ years apprenticeship or equivalent in Mechanical or Electrical field.
• Training at Allen Bradley and ABB technical sites.
• Basic computer knowledge with Microsoft Windows.

Responsibilities

• Promote a safe working environment by following all safety procedures.
• Maintain and troubleshoot all spider pickers and robotic palletizers.
• Lead and audit preventative maintenance procedures.
• Install, maintain, and troubleshoot relay logic, ladder diagrams, control components, sensors and actuators.
• Develop training plans for technicians.
• Develop work plans for emergency repair of critical assets.
• Support internal IT needs with related equipment.
• Perform additional duties as required by management.
