Job summary

Base Power Company is seeking a hands-on controls engineering technician to be the first line of response on the production floor. You’ll work directly with the controls engineering team, monitoring line health, diagnosing faults, and performing first‑response diagnostics to prevent downtime.

You’ll engage with Siemens S7 PLCs, Fanuc robots, and Ignition SCADA, documenting observations and supporting commissioning, upgrades, and system verification as the team grows with the business.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of hands-on experience in an industrial automation environment.
• Experience with Siemens S7-PLC hardware and software.
• Ability to diagnose faults quickly and document findings clearly.
• Comfort working on the factory floor with downtime prevention.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, diagnose, and trace faults on Siemens S7 PLCs on the production line.
• Jog and adjust Fanuc robot programs under engineering direction.
• Use Ignition SCADA to review tag history and identify trends.
• Perform first-response diagnostics during line stoppages.
• Document fault history and observations for the engineering team.
• Support commissioning, upgrades, and change verification.
• Learn system architecture and grow toward owning more of it.
