We're seeking a hands‑on Controls Technician to join our 1st shift team. This non‑production role plays a key part in keeping our operations running safely and efficiently by performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and implementing electrical control systems that meet USDA, HACCP, GMFP, and company standards.
If you enjoy working with automation, PLCs, and electrical systems in a fast‑paced environment where quality and safety come first, this could be a great fit.
- Perform preventative maintenance, emergency repairs, rebuilds, and equipment projects.
- Design, develop, implement, and supervise electrical control systems for machinery and process equipment.
- Collaborate with the Plant Engineer and Maintenance Managers to plan and execute electrical and control‑related goals.
- Provide electrical and programming troubleshooting support for all plant equipment and processes.
- Assist the Project Coordinator in developing and implementing cost‑saving initiatives.
- Build, wire, and install electrical panels and components as needed.
- Manage controls documentation and assist in developing SOPs for plant equipment and processes.
- Design and maintain HMI systems (FactoryTalk View ME/SE, PanelView, PanelView+).
- Participate in HAZMAT and Refrigeration Support activities as required.
Qualifications
- Experience in PLC and HMI programming, including RSLogix 500, RSLogix 5000, FactoryTalk View ME & SE, PanelView, and PanelView+.
- Strong electrical troubleshooting skills with PLC and VFD systems.
- Proficient in AutoCAD Electrical.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Advanced computer proficiency, including networked/server environments.
- Licensed Electrician (or actively pursuing licensure) preferred.
- TIG welding to food‑grade stainless steel standards is a plus.
