Job summary

Job description

KEY TASKS• Troubleshoot PLC systems, such as Rockwell and Mitsubishi• Program and troubleshoot Fanuc Robots on a basic level• Configure and troubleshoot Servo and VFD systems,including SEW, Allen Bradley, and Mitsubishi• Configure and troubleshoot HMI systems• Train and assist electricians to troubleshoot, repair, replace,and commission all electrical control devices, including ACdrives, DC drives, and Servo Controllers, contactors, motors,breakers, solenoids, and power supplies• Train and assist electricians to troubleshoot PLC and HMIhardware, including processors, discrete and analog IOcards, power supplies, network adapters, distributed IO,message displays, PC based interfaces, and operatorinterfaces such as PanelView• Provide direction, assistance, and training to maintenanceelectricians in other technical areas, as needed• Assist with basic maintenance of networking andcommunications, such as DeviceNet, ControlNet andEthernet/IP.• Plan and coordinate engineering project work with teammembers• Engage in project commissioning and start-up work• Troubleshoot automation systems and assist with otheraspects of electrical or controls projects as necessary• Root cause analysis of severe downtime incidentsREQUIREMENTSEducation:• Associate’s degree in Engineering, Information Systems,or relevant field requiredYears of Experience:• 2+ years of experience in Engineering, Robotics, orrelevant technical role requiredOther Requirements:• Regular and predictable attendance required• Cooperate within teams to carry out tasks andresponsibilities• Overtime may be required as work load or projectsdictate, including weekends and holidays• Understanding of typical manufacturing interfaces andprocesses, such as between the glass process, thecontrols, and the robotics that allow working in concertKEY COMPETENCIES• Advanced/Intermediate skill level with Microsoft OfficeSuite; Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written• Effective ability to lead, direct, and instruct others of tasksand processes• Hands-on approach to problem solving and analysis.• Excellent Analytical Skills• Live by example the Carlex Values – Safety,Accountability, Results Oriented, Team Approach,Customer Focused, and strong Integrity and Ethics.• Additional responsibility is to be able to teach thesevalues to others and encourage them to join the team.• Others, as required
